XXV. Working Conditions <strong>of</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Technical Employees<br />

in the bargaining unit, his/her departmental seniority shall be the sum <strong>of</strong> his/her<br />

departmental seniority prior to his/her appointment to a position outside the<br />

bargaining unit and his/her departmental seniority from his/her date <strong>of</strong> return<br />

to a position in the bargaining unit.<br />

7. No one shall be involuntarily transferred unless there is a drop in positions<br />

in which case it shall be done by department seniority within the work<br />

location.<br />

8. An employee transferred due to a drop in positions shall have the right <strong>of</strong><br />

return to his/her original department in the reverse order to that in which he/<br />

she was transferred out, provided a request for such transfer is made within one<br />

(1) year <strong>of</strong> the date he/she was transferred out.<br />

9. Employees requesting a transfer to an administrative <strong>of</strong>fice shall specifically<br />

list such locations on the transfer form.<br />

C. Duties<br />

1. Radio Alarm Dispatchers shall not be required to wear uniforms.<br />

D. examinations and Appointments<br />

1. A Research Intern or Research Assistant who, prior to appointment in<br />

such position was a teacher, shall upon return to a teaching position be given<br />

credit on the salary schedule for the time served in the position <strong>of</strong> Research<br />

Intern or Research Assistant.<br />

2. Employees currently classified as provisional Research Interns and Assistants<br />

shall be given a qualifying examination for such positions.<br />

Article XXVi<br />

Working Conditions <strong>of</strong> Supportive Services Assistants,<br />

Parent Assistants and Health Room Technicians<br />

A. Work Schedule<br />

1. An employee who is required to attend a faculty meeting that extends<br />

beyond his/her workday shall be paid in accordance with the provisions <strong>of</strong> Article<br />

XII, Section K.<br />

2. Employees may attend special regional curriculum meetings when subjects<br />

involving the work <strong>of</strong> employees are on the agenda. In the case <strong>of</strong> meetings<br />

where this does not occur, the <strong>School</strong> <strong>District</strong> may schedule special regional<br />

meetings for employees, which they shall attend.<br />

3. In the event that the schools are closed on account <strong>of</strong> inclement weather,<br />

the employees assigned thereto shall not be required to report for duty that day.<br />

Such employees shall be paid for the regular daily number <strong>of</strong> hours for that<br />

day.<br />
