days” which shall represent pro-rated time <strong>of</strong>f for holidays that occur on Mondays<br />

and Tuesdays for that fiscal year. In no event, however, will the number <strong>of</strong> holidays<br />

exceed the total pro-rated amount referenced in this paragraph. Employees shall<br />

be entitled to use floating holidays after the actual holiday for which it was provided<br />

occurs, on the condition that the employee was actively employed on the<br />

date <strong>of</strong> the actual holiday.<br />

For example, if a holiday falls on a Monday (i.e. Labor Day), the employees<br />

on this shift will be provided with a floating holiday, to be used in accordance<br />

with the terms <strong>of</strong> this Section. If a holiday falls on a Wednesday, Thursday or<br />

Friday the employees will be <strong>of</strong>f on the designated holiday. Finally, if an actual<br />

holiday falls on a Saturday (i.e. New Years Day, Fourth <strong>of</strong> July, Christmas Day),<br />

the <strong>School</strong> <strong>District</strong> may designate that holiday as a scheduled holiday for this<br />

shift, and the employees will work the remaining days <strong>of</strong> their regularly scheduled<br />

shift.<br />

Compensation for floating holidays will be at the employee’s regular rate <strong>of</strong><br />

pay. Unused floating holidays shall not be accumulated or carried over from year<br />

to year. Employees shall be paid for any unused floating holidays at the end <strong>of</strong><br />

a fiscal year at his/her current rate <strong>of</strong> pay.<br />

Head Start — Supportive Service Assistants<br />

To the extent funding is available, the Head Start Program will hire twelve<br />

(12) additional Supportive Service Assistants. They will work as floating substitutes<br />

for Teacher Assistants. They will work four (4) hours per day and will be<br />

paid the rate <strong>of</strong> pay for Supportive Service Assistants.<br />

Head Start — Fax Machines<br />

This is to confirm our April 10th agreement <strong>of</strong> this <strong>of</strong>fice placing a fax machine<br />

in all <strong>of</strong> our non-school locations effective September 2000. We will not provide<br />

another phone line, but will notify staff when it is necessary for us to fax information<br />

to them.<br />

Hopefully, this will alleviate staff from receiving documents late or not at all<br />

by mail.<br />

Paychecks<br />

The <strong>School</strong> <strong>District</strong> agrees that as soon as possible, paycheck stubs shall itemize<br />

all “adjustments” including such as have not heret<strong>of</strong>ore been itemized.<br />

Reading at Faculty Meetings<br />

The <strong>School</strong> <strong>District</strong> agrees that any printed or duplicated materials distributed<br />

at faculty meetings shall not be read to the teachers.<br />

<strong>School</strong> Organization Chart<br />

Because there is a need to clarify the relationship between the administrative<br />

staff in the school and the employees, Principals must post a school organization<br />

chart showing the lines <strong>of</strong> responsibility and supervision.<br />
