XII. Compensation<br />

18. An employee who, when and if permitted by this Agreement, is requested<br />

or directed by the Administration to go to a location other than that to which<br />

he/she is regularly assigned or is authorized to use a personal car for <strong>School</strong><br />

<strong>District</strong> business, shall be paid at the IRS-approved rate for any authorized<br />

travel and shall be reimbursed for any reasonable and necessary parking fees<br />

and tolls.<br />

19. <strong>Teachers</strong> shall not be required to attend meetings outside <strong>of</strong> their regularly<br />

assigned workday for which there is no additional compensation, except<br />

for two (2) evening meetings per year and induction hours. Nothing in this<br />

Agreement shall prohibit employees from volunteering to perform duties outside<br />

their regularly assigned workday, which services shall not result in any<br />

additional compensation.<br />

If an additional night meeting beyond the two (2) meetings referenced above<br />

is desired by a school community, the following process will be followed. The<br />

issue will be discussed and a plan developed collaboratively by the Principal,<br />

the Building Committee, the Home and <strong>School</strong> President and/or parent members<br />

<strong>of</strong> the <strong>School</strong> Council.<br />

An additional night meeting may be scheduled through a shortened work day<br />

and that day cannot exceed the contractual work day. If such a meeting is scheduled,<br />

it requires the signature <strong>of</strong> the Principal, the Building Committee and the<br />

Home and <strong>School</strong> President.<br />

20. All overtime shall be distributed equitably among eligible employees<br />

qualified to perform the work, within each classification at a given work location.<br />

Such distribution shall be accomplished in a manner to be determined by<br />

the operating head <strong>of</strong> each department in consultation with the <strong>Federation</strong>.<br />

21. An employee, other than a member <strong>of</strong> the teachers bargaining unit,<br />

required to work on the first day <strong>of</strong> his/her scheduled two (2) days <strong>of</strong>f shall be<br />

paid at the rate <strong>of</strong> time and one-half (1½) for all time worked on such day. Such<br />

employee required to work on the second day <strong>of</strong> his/her scheduled two (2) days<br />

<strong>of</strong>f shall be paid at the rate <strong>of</strong> time and one-half (1½) for all time worked on<br />

such day. In the event such employee is required to work both the first and second<br />

day <strong>of</strong> his/her scheduled two (2) days <strong>of</strong>f, he/she shall be paid at the rate <strong>of</strong><br />

double time for such time as he/she works on the second day <strong>of</strong> such scheduled<br />

two (2) days <strong>of</strong>f.<br />

22. All employees shall be eligible if qualified for extra-curricular activities<br />

and pay. Employees other than teachers shall be paid at their regular hourly<br />

rate <strong>of</strong> pay.<br />

23. In each school year, each teacher (as defined in Article XVIII, Section<br />

A(1) shall have the right, beginning in the 2005/2006 school year, to expend one<br />

hundred ($100) dollars out <strong>of</strong> his/her school’s allotment for supplies, instructional<br />

aids and books for the purpose <strong>of</strong> purchase or requisition <strong>of</strong> such materials<br />

for use with his/her students. Any unexpended portion <strong>of</strong> such one hundred<br />

($100) dollars shall be retained in the school’s said allotment. The method <strong>of</strong><br />

effectuation <strong>of</strong> this Section has been agreed upon by the <strong>Federation</strong> and the<br />

<strong>School</strong> <strong>District</strong> and will govern for the life <strong>of</strong> this Agreement except as modified<br />

from time to time by mutual agreement <strong>of</strong> the parties.<br />
