J. Wage continuation Program<br />

1. Eligibility. Employees in the <strong>Teachers</strong>, Non-Teaching Assistants, Secretaries,<br />

Parapr<strong>of</strong>essionals, Comprehensive Early Learning Center, Food Service<br />

Managers, Head Start and Pr<strong>of</strong>essional/Technical bargaining units shall have<br />

the opportunity to enroll in a weekly indemnity program which would provide<br />

a uniform benefit duration with various waiting periods based on accumulated<br />

sick leave. This plan shall be as follows:<br />

2. New Hires. For employees in covered bargaining units who are newly<br />

hired within the three (3) years immediately prior to each September 1 when<br />

the employee’s weekly indemnity benefits category is set, the percentage <strong>of</strong> premium<br />

paid by the <strong>School</strong> <strong>District</strong> will be as follows:<br />

3. Category Placement. At the commencement <strong>of</strong> each school year and until<br />

the following July 1, the individual shall be placed in a category relating to his/<br />

her accumulated sick leave.<br />

4. Premium amounts for the Weekly Indemnity Program shall be deducted<br />

from all pay.<br />

5. Waiting Periods. The waiting period shall apply only once during each<br />

school year commencing with July 1 or September 1.
