Spurred on by our success yesterday
evening and with the prospect of a refresh-ing
swim in the sea, we leave the
coast road again at a sign pointing left
down a rough road to Kakomeja bay. After
a few miles we can see the bay, but
there’s a gate blocking the road. To the
left of the gate an uneven path looks like it
takes an alternative route down to the water.
A few quick glances are exchanged:
right then, off we go!
The next couple of miles are like a sequence
of classic cinema moments. The
view is straight out of The Blue Lagoon,
the steep descent is from The Wages
of Fear, and when we get to the beach
it’s like something from The Godfather:
two guys dressed in black with “Security”
badges sewn onto their shirts quickly
