Even on his first attempt, Touratech rider Gerhard Forster
achieved a respectable result in this extremely challenging
rally in the mountains of Lesotho.
Following his successful appearances at the
Erzberg Rodeo and the Red Bull Romaniacs,
Touratech extreme sports competitor Gerhard
Forster tackled the third event that
is set to become part of the World
Xtreme Enduro Championship
(WXEC): the Roof of Africa.
Having held his place in
the top ten for quite
some time, and
still in twelfth
position at
the end
of the
second
day, Forster
was
forced
to drop
out of the race on
day three due to a technical
fault. Despite this loss of points, Forster
obtained 23rd place overall and will go down as
the best “silver” finisher (still in the race at the end of day
two) in this legendary rally. A strong performance given there were
some 250 riders in the field, including a considerable number of the world’s
enduro racing elite.
