case of ceilings especially, the water slowly finds its way into<br />

the <str<strong>on</strong>g>insulati<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> underneath, and failure of that ceiling insula-<br />

ti<strong>on</strong> will be the certain result. Where such c<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong> can-<br />

possible SO that air may circulate freely through them and<br />

thus carry ofif by evaporati<strong>on</strong> any c<strong>on</strong>densed moisture.<br />

The sec<strong>on</strong>d principle, that of ample air circulati<strong>on</strong>, is even<br />

more important in cold storage rooms operating above freez-<br />

ing than it is in rooms maintaining lower temperatures ; because<br />

refrigerati<strong>on</strong> in its simplest terms is the extracti<strong>on</strong> and<br />

removal of heat from the goods stored, which is d<strong>on</strong>e not by<br />

immediate c<strong>on</strong>tact between the goods and the refrigerant but<br />

through the medium of the air, and in rooms operating above
