tightly with hot Asphalt cement, the <strong>cork</strong>board extending bey<strong>on</strong>d<br />

the inside face of the wall so as to join and seal with<br />

the wall <str<strong>on</strong>g>insulati<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g>. The <str<strong>on</strong>g>insulati<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> c<strong>on</strong>tractor shall furnish<br />

the material required for this purpose, but the installati<strong>on</strong><br />

shall be made by the general c<strong>on</strong>tractor.<br />

(43) Rat proofing.<br />

As a barrier against rats and mice entering this cold storage<br />

room, there shall be installed over all areas of the room<br />

and securely stapled in place, with all joints carefully butted<br />

or lapped, galvanized wire square-mesh screen, No. 18 gauge, 3<br />

mesh (1/3-inch). The screen shall be located as near as pos-<br />

sible to the point of expected attack, that is, the screen shall<br />

be laid across ceiling joists and wall studding before the<br />

sheathing is applied, fastened to the surface of soft brick or<br />

laid down over w^ood floor before the first layer of <str<strong>on</strong>g>insulati<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

is applied, and similarly used elsewhere as required.<br />

(44) Portland cement mortar. !<br />

The Portland cement mortar (not the Portland cement !<br />

plaster) used in c<strong>on</strong>necti<strong>on</strong> with the <strong>cork</strong>board <str<strong>on</strong>g>insulati<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>on</strong><br />

walls and partiti<strong>on</strong>s shall be mixed in the proporti<strong>on</strong> of <strong>on</strong>e ;<br />

part Portland cement to two parts clean, sharp sand.<br />

The Portland cement mortar used in c<strong>on</strong>necti<strong>on</strong> with the<br />

<strong>cork</strong>board <str<strong>on</strong>g>insulati<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>on</strong> ceilings shall be mixed in the propor- |<br />

ti<strong>on</strong> of <strong>on</strong>e part Portland cement to <strong>on</strong>e part clean, sharp<br />

sand.<br />
