in thickness, and troweled to a hard, smooth finish. The surface<br />

shall then be scored in ...-foot squares to c<strong>on</strong>fine any<br />

checking and cracking of the plaster to such score marks.<br />

(36) Factory ir<strong>on</strong>ed-<strong>on</strong> mastic finish, joints sealed.<br />

The exposed surface of the <strong>cork</strong>boards, used <strong>on</strong> the sec<strong>on</strong>d<br />

or exposed course of <str<strong>on</strong>g>insulati<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g>, shall be coated to a thickness<br />

of approximately ^-inch with an asphalt mastic* finish ir<strong>on</strong>ed<br />

<strong>on</strong> at the factory, the mastic coating having beveled (V)<br />

edges; and after the <strong>cork</strong>board is erected, all joints shall be<br />

sealed with suitable plastic asphalt mastic put carefully in<br />

place and g<strong>on</strong>e over with the point of a hot tool, hot enough<br />

to melt the mastic and the plastic and seal the joints and<br />

render them tight.<br />
