Prepare suitable Portland cement mortar in reas<strong>on</strong>able<br />

quantity, mixed <strong>on</strong>e part Portland cement to <strong>on</strong>e part clean,<br />

sharp sand, and then apply a top coat, of minimum depth of<br />

1 inch, over the rough c<strong>on</strong>crete base, slope to drain as specified,<br />

and trowel to a smooth, hard surface.<br />

board in suitable hot Asphalt cement between the sleepers<br />

with all joints carefully butted and sealed tight. The top sur-<br />

face of the <strong>cork</strong>boards and the sleepers shall then be flooded<br />

with the same compound to a uniform thickness of approxi-<br />

mately ^-inch.<br />

Lay a finished wood floor of thoroughly dry and seas<strong>on</strong>ed<br />

J^-inch lumber, as specified, with approximately 1/32-inch<br />

between the boards, to eliminate as much as possible the<br />

tendency of the floor to expand and warp, secret nail securely<br />

to the sleepers embedded in the <strong>cork</strong>board underneath, and<br />

leave the surface of the floor perfectly smooth and even.<br />
