erect the first row <strong>on</strong> the floor between the permanent<br />

studs, <strong>on</strong> a level line, so that the <strong>cork</strong>boards in the entire par-<br />

titi<strong>on</strong> wall are kept in perfect alignment, and all vertical joints<br />

between <strong>cork</strong>boards and studs, and all transverse joints between<br />

<strong>cork</strong>boards in all rows, are made to fit close and are<br />

sealed tight. Toe-nail the first or bottom row of <strong>cork</strong>boards<br />

securely to the floor, if the floor be of wood, using galvanized<br />

wire nails, and drive galvanized wire nails through the corners<br />

of each <strong>cork</strong>board into the adjoining studs.<br />
