Adjusliiii) Plates.—The product of the best porcchin manufacturers<br />

in the country is used, but it is impossible to guarantee absolute, precise<br />

uniformity in jar sizes.<br />

In order to insure a perfect fit, adjusting plates are provided at each<br />

end of the syrup unit to take up any excess opening. These are stamped<br />

of 18-gauge nickel silver.<br />

Facing.—The ends are faced with No. 18 ])orcelain white enamel<br />

Armco ir<strong>on</strong>, the back with galvanized copper-bearing steel painted with<br />

aluminum br<strong>on</strong>ze.<br />

Filler Iiilcls.—hi the bottom of the syrup unit and directly to the rear<br />

of the boiler, provisi<strong>on</strong> is made for filling the outfit with brine or for in-<br />

serting a siph<strong>on</strong>ing hose should it ever become necessary to remove the<br />

brine. These c<strong>on</strong>sist of heavy brass ^-inch filler tubes just l<strong>on</strong>g enough<br />

to extend through the sub-cover. The upper end is threaded <strong>on</strong> the inside<br />

to fit a brass plug. C<strong>on</strong>venient and out of sight.<br />

used in all Guaranty interiors are as shown in the accompanying illustra-<br />

ti<strong>on</strong>. They are made of br<strong>on</strong>ze, heavily silver plated, hand burnished,
