3-inch thick sheet <strong>cork</strong> is used <strong>on</strong> the bottom, two layers 2-inch thick sheet<br />

<strong>cork</strong> <strong>on</strong> the ends and sides, and <strong>on</strong>e layer 2-inch sheet <strong>cork</strong> <strong>on</strong> the top.<br />

The double row cabinets, however, in order to stay within the 30 inches<br />

width, have <strong>on</strong>e layer 2-inch and <strong>on</strong>e layer IJ/^-inch sheet <strong>cork</strong> <strong>on</strong> the<br />

ends and sides.<br />

Descripti<strong>on</strong>.—The accompanying photograph shows the cover-<br />

ing removed from the ice cream can secti<strong>on</strong> of an Absopure 4-hole,<br />

in line, self-c<strong>on</strong>tained, air-cooled electric ice cream cabinet, display-<br />

ing the sturdy framework of steel, the solidly placed pure com-<br />

pressed <strong>cork</strong>board <str<strong>on</strong>g>insulati<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> and the positi<strong>on</strong> of the refrigerating<br />

coils.<br />

Insulati<strong>on</strong>.—The <str<strong>on</strong>g>insulati<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> of this unit c<strong>on</strong>sists of two layers<br />

3-inch thick pure compressed <strong>cork</strong>board <strong>on</strong> the bottom of the cabinet,<br />

two layers 2-inch thick pure compressed <strong>cork</strong>board <strong>on</strong> the ends<br />

and sides of the cabinet, and <strong>on</strong>e layer 2-inch thick pure compressed<br />

<strong>cork</strong>board in the cabinet top. This <str<strong>on</strong>g>insulati<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> is carefully pressed<br />

into positi<strong>on</strong>, using a waterproof sealing material <strong>on</strong> all joints and<br />

surfaces to obviate the possibility of the collecti<strong>on</strong> and freezing<br />

of water within the cabinet c<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong>, due to the c<strong>on</strong>densati<strong>on</strong> of<br />

moisture from c<strong>on</strong>cealed air spaces or pockets, and the c<strong>on</strong>sequent<br />

disintegrati<strong>on</strong> of the <str<strong>on</strong>g>insulati<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g>, damage to the cabinet and serious
