SHEET FLOORS<br />

Net Post Floor Fixing Point with Floor Plug<br />

Vinyl, linoleum, rubber <strong>and</strong> composite fl oor sheeting materials <strong>and</strong> fi bre reinforced polyurethane are<br />

widely available for sports fl oor surfaces. In some instances the sheeting (or tiles) is available with<br />

shock absorption cellular plastic or rubber backing.<br />

It is important to note that when the above fl oor fi nishes are applied directly onto a screeded surfaces<br />

that the surfaces have to be free of any dirt or projecting particles as these will considerable reduce<br />

the life of the fl oor.<br />

The sheet fl ooring systems may also be applied onto a sprung fl oor for additional shock absorption.<br />

The polyurethane sports fl oors are mixed on site <strong>and</strong> forma continuous playing surface without joints.<br />

The underlay can be a cellular plastic, prefabricated sheet or in situ bonded material.<br />

The application may be either directly onto the above underlay or it may be applied onto sprung fl oors.<br />

Whilst this type of surface is usually considered to be point elastic but synthetic mesh material can be<br />

integrated into the system to improve the elasticity of the material.<br />

The fi nish usually ranges in thickness from 1 – 4 mm <strong>and</strong> is suitable for use with spiked shoes. The<br />

fi nish is smooth, self levelling <strong>and</strong> is available in a number of colours.
