El Bosque Golf & Country Club
Your opening game on 27 Oct. will already be a challenge.
This 18-hole golf course is one of the finest Spain has to
offer. It was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr, opened in
1975 and has hosted the Spanish Open several times. Despite
the intricacies and demanding nature of the course, the
park’s landscape and its quick greens still make it suitable
for all levels. The more than 100 sand bunkers, as well as nu-
merous water and tree hazards, are what make this course
worthy of champions. Par 72, minimum handicap 36
La Manga Club
Opened in 1971, and host to your game on 29 Oct., this
18-hole golf course is situated in the Murcia province and
was designed by R. D. Putman and Dave Thomas. Several
international tournaments have already been held here,
among them the Spanish Open and the Spanish PGA Championships.
All three of the club’s courses require a high level
of skill and precision. The famous south course will serve
up quite a few challenges with its bunkers and ponds. The
western part of the grounds is also rather interesting as it
lies directly in the middle of a bright pine forest.
Granada Club de Golf
The tournament’s closing round takes place on 31 Oct. at
this 18-hole golf course. The grounds provide an outstanding
view of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The 15th
hole is made somewhat tricky by the narrowing fairway
and the water flowing along its side. The green is protracted
and the pin position is also slightly more complicated than
usual. The 17th hole has a difficult tee off as the left side
features a dogleg and an out of bounds area runs along the
fairway. Par 71, minimum handicap 36
