Our lecturer and his passion for art<br />
Dr Frank Hildebrandt, curator of the Hamburg Museum<br />
of Art and Crafts and visiting lecturer at two different<br />
universities, accompanies this trip. No one else knows<br />
more about art throughout the ages. Hildebrandt will give<br />
lectures on board, answer questions and provide you with<br />
information about the most famous art fair in the world,<br />
“Art Basel” – an event you will have the opportunity to<br />
visit during one of our excursions.<br />
Depending upon the circumstances, it is possible that another lecturer will be on<br />
board for this trip.<br />
The Upper Middle Rhine Valley –<br />
a UNESCO World Heritage Site<br />
For the last 200 years, the upper half of the Middle<br />
Rhine Valley has been considered one of the most<br />
beautiful waterways in the world. Over a distance of 67<br />
kilometres, the stream winds through picturesque vineyards;<br />
castles are scattered throughout the hills, the<br />
banks are lined with small wine-growing towns and no<br />
course is complete without passing the famous Loreley.<br />
A private tour of Namedy Castle<br />
Namedy Castle has been in the possession of the House<br />
of Hohenzollern since 1908. Over the years this defiant<br />
moated castle has been transformed into a magnificent<br />
baroque palace. The current owner, Princess Heide von<br />
Hohenzollern, will give you a personal tour through the<br />
rooms of the castle.<br />
Exclusive visit to the Eberbach Monastery<br />
The Cistercian monastery in Eberbach, one of the locations<br />
used in the filming of “The Name of the Rose”, opens its<br />
doors exclusively to our guests, offering you a tour, a wine<br />
tasting and a concert in distinguished surroundings.<br />
