Atlantic Ocean
together with the Sea Cloud ii around the Canary islands:
las palmas – las palmas
two tall ships, one course
The younger sister of the Sea Cloud, the Sea Cloud ii,
joins us out at sea. Over the course of two days, both
ships sail through the islands of the Canaries together,
making for a truly magnificent sight! The Sea Cloud ii
even invites you aboard for a visit in the port of Santa Cruz
de Tenerife.
the white sails take centre stage
Each morning the Sea Cloud leaves its anchorage and
delivers a spectacle like no other: The crew comes onto
the deck, the orders ring out, and the tall ship’s sails are
hoisted. For hours on end the only master is the wind
and the elements. Let your imagination take flight, as the
Sea Cloud will not reach another port until evening.
the diversity of the Canary islands
Gran Canaria, Tenerife, El Hierro, La Palma and La Gomera
– the two bigger and three smaller Canary Islands initially
appear as distinctive silhouettes on the horizon. As you
approach, you gradually begin to recognise their shores
before finally getting to explore them up close during the
evening. Walking along the promenades, through narrow
alleyways or alongside the sea, you will get to experience
the diverse character of these islands: from cosmopolitan
style in Las Palmas to quiet introspection in rustic San
Sebastián.
a lecturer accompanies the trip
Our expert is on hand to give you talks on a wide variety of
specialist subjects, packed with interesting information,
entertainment and facts. He is also on board to answer
any questions you may have.
