there can be no doubt that Madeira in springtime is<br />
something very special indeed. This is the time when the<br />
spectacular volcanic island metamorphoses into a veritable<br />
sea of flowers, leaving even the most rugged of<br />
coasts glowing in various shades of green.<br />
Two whole days beneath the sails<br />
A wonderful tradition can be observed on your very first<br />
day at sea: Our sailing experts explain how to hoist the<br />
sails. Each of the team’s manoeuvres take you back to a<br />
time when tall ships ruled the waves. But on board the<br />

The approach to lisbon<br />
The most scenic way to approach the Portuguese capital<br />
is along the river Tagus. Visitors are greeted by one of<br />
the city’s most famous landmarks, standing on the river<br />
mouth since 1521: the Torre de Belém. This tower was<br />
built when Portugal’s empire was at its zenith and is now<br />
a UNESCO World Heritage Site.<br />
