The natural beauty of the Grenadines:
Barbados – Barbados
Luscious tropical flora in Trinidad
The national flower of Trinidad is called the Chaconia,
named after the island’s most influential governor. It is a
type of wild poinsettia and grows to an imposing height
of three metres. The trees of the rainforest grow even
taller. One of the biggest is the Poui. It reaches a height
of around 40 metres and is adorned with a sea of pink or
yellow blossom.
A treat for all the senses: Grenada,
the island of spice
It is no coincidence that the nutmeg seed is a feature of
the national flag. Since colonial times, this spice, along
with cloves and ginger, has been one of the island’s most
valuable exports. If the aromatic fragrance of the tropics
were to have a name, it would have to be “Grenada”.
Snorkeller’s paradise in the Tobago Cays
and the beaches of the Grenadines
Idyllic bays, beautiful beaches, and the turquoise-coloured
sea are perfect for swimming or sunbathing. A short
distance away from the anchorage of the Sea Cloud ii at
Bequia the Princess Margaret Beach awaits. It was given its
name after a visit from the British princess, who found the
beach simply stunning. The Tobago Cays, a group of five
small, uninhabited islands, can only be reached by boat. Underwater
lies a unique and alluring world of plants and sea
creatures, and on the shore you will find a beach barbecue.
The magnificent Pitons of St Lucia
They could have come straight out of a tropical story-
book – Gros and Petit Piton, the two famous volcanic cones
that tower over St lucia. They are one of UNESCO’s World
Heritage Sites and provide you with a spectacular panorama
as the Sea Cloud ii sails closely alongside their slopes.
