Although St lucia is not considered a saint by everyone,
the island is certainly the true queen of this idyllic realm.
Even from a distance, its twin volcanic peaks, the Pitons,
proffer a regal greeting to the approaching Sea Cloud.
And once we have docked, the island welcomes us with
its lush tropical scenery. Dominica, unofficially dubbed
“Nature Island”, is proud of its unspoilt scenery. One of
its national parks is even a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Popular sailors’ haunts
In a sea in which almost every small island has at least
one perfect beach, and where a multitude of elegant
yachts delightfully cruise from one destination to the next,
it comes as no surprise that there are a couple of very
unique anchorages where sailors are the only guests. The
beautiful bay of Bequia and the Tobago Cays are two such
spots.
A snorkeller’s paradise in the Tobago Cays
Mother nature has the ability to create very unique masterpieces.
The Horseshoe Reef on the small archipelago
of the Tobago Cays is one such beauty. Its pristine coral
reefs, clear waters and beautiful beaches are ideal for
swimming and snorkelling. And since horseshoes are
known to bring good luck, you are sure to find yours here –
both above and below the water.
The savoir-vivre of the Îles des Saintes
This French archipelago has been part of France since
the 17th century. Overlooked by a historical fort, the
charming town of Terre-de-Haut presents you spectacular
views of the surrounding bays. Its boutiques, bars,
restaurants, and cafés are also definitely worth exploring.
