-- An employee will receive retirement credit for each month in which the<br />

employee has any retirement eligible earnings. In the event the employee's<br />

earnings are less than enough to pay the employee contribution to LACERA,<br />

the employee may pay the required employee contribution directly to<br />

LACERA to receive retirement credit for that month. Such payments shall be<br />

made within thirty (30) days following the end of the month in which the<br />

contribution was not made.<br />

-- EVTO will not constitute a break in service and will count towards time in<br />

service for step advancement and continuous service date.<br />

-- An employee may take a total of one (1) year of EVTO with the following<br />

parameters:<br />

-- A full year of EVTO will not constitute a break in service and will count<br />

towards time in service for step advancement and continuous service date.<br />

-- After the first sixty (60) days of EVTO, the sixty (60) day EVTO benefit<br />

guarantees will not apply.<br />

-- Retirement service credit will not accrue during this period.<br />

-- FLSA Non-exempt employees may request EVTO in increments as little as one<br />

hour.
