D. Civil Service Rules and applicable Board of Supervisors’ policies will be applied to<br />
employees affected by the Department of Health Services and/or Department of<br />
Public Health restructuring plans or similar plans/programs ordered by the Board of<br />
Supervisors.<br />
Section 3. Training<br />
A. The parties agree to establish a Labor-Management Training Board composed of<br />
twelve (12) members. There will be six (6) Union members and six (6) Management<br />
members to administer any funds allocated for the training program. The Training<br />
Board will begin meeting by January 31, 2001.<br />
B. Current <strong>County</strong> employees in the bargaining unit who are negatively impacted by<br />
restructuring shall have first priority for placement in a training program funded as a<br />
direct result of Department of Health Services and/or Department of Public Health<br />
restructuring.<br />
C. Throughout the term of this MOU, employees of the Department of Health Services<br />
and/or Department of Public Health who do not receive the Bilingual Bonus pursuant<br />
to <strong>County</strong> Code Section 6.10.140, may, upon request of the employee, enroll in a<br />
basic language course other than English offered by the LA Health Care Workforce<br />
Development Program. Upon successful completion of the course, each employee<br />
shall be issued a certificate.
