significantly greater proportion for scenes with a negative than positive object<br />

(F(1,68) = 10.93, p < .01). The significant main effect of experiment was further<br />

explored using post-hoc comparisons with a Bonferroni correction for multiple<br />

tests. These revealed that this proportion was significantly reduced for<br />

Experiment 9 in comparison to all other Experiments, but there were no other<br />

differences (Expt 7 > Expt 9, p < .001; Expt 10 > Expt 9, p < .001; Expt 8 ><br />

Expt 9, p < .001).<br />
