POWER LINE CONNECTION Mains filter 246 DDS HARDWARE Ref.1209 240 6.5 Mains filter i i In order for the <strong>Fagor</strong> DDS servo drive system to meet the European Directive on Electromagnetic Compatibility 2004/108/CE, a mains filter must be installed against electromagnetic disturbances. INFORMATION. This does not guarantee the compliance with such CE Directive on Electromagnetic Compatibility regarding the machine because it may have other devices that could cause disturbances. To install it, it must be properly connected to ground and the wires connecting to the power supply module must be as short as possible. They may be installed either horizontally or vertically. The three-phase line is connected to the terminals on top of the module and the load (power supply or compact drive) to those at the bottom. See the label on the front panel showing these terminals in full detail. See figure F. H6/3. Table T. H6/5 indicates the proper filter to be installed depending on the power supply or compact drive being used in the DDS system. MPC-4x... 6.6 Line inductance Line inductance means including chokes on each of the three power lines. Its function is to reduce the harmonics generated in mains. The recommended value is given by the formula: L V0.04 = ------------------------- 2f I rms To simplify the choice, we could consider optimum the values given in the following table: T. MANDATORY. Do not install line chokes in line with RPS or XPS regenerative power supplies. They generate interference in the regenerating mechanism.
