Although the future is certainly unpredictable, there is a significant<br />

chance that the academic innovations <strong>of</strong> the 1980s <strong>and</strong> 1990s<br />

(especially service learning, public scholarship, diversity work,<br />

<strong>and</strong> deliberation) will become more political—more oriented to<br />

fundamental social change —as the Millennials make their mark.<br />
