Conclusion Only strong political commitment, relayed on the municipal level and by civil society, will make it possible to generate solidarity and urban cohesion. Although numerous difficulties remain to be overcome and the timelines considered are long, it appears that initiatives carry a vitality and determination to allow suitable urban settlements for poor populations and create more inclusive cities.
