Introduction: This study ascertained the independent association of<br />

visual impairment (VI) with sleep duration using the National Health<br />

Interview Survey (NHIS) data.<br />

Methods: Analysis was based on the 2009 NHIS, providing valid sleep<br />

and vision data for 19,985 volunteers (ages: 18-85). The sample was<br />

87% white and 13% black; 55% women; and 70% had a family income<br />

8hrs); 33% were obese<br />

(≥30kg/m^2); and 34% reported negative moods (depression/anxiety).<br />
