Exercises
This chapter starts off with a number of
experience based exercises (A1 to A7)
which draw out participants’ own personal
and emotional experience with the issue
of stigma. Then it introduces the definition
on stigma in Exercise A8. The aim is to get
participants to connect to stigma first on
a personal level, rather than a theoretical
level. So when you are planning a workshop,
use exercise A8 after the experience
based exercises (A1 to A7).
Exercises A1 to A7 are optional exercises,
using different methods (e.g., pictures,
drama, testimonies, case studies, etc). All
of these exercises are designed to bring
out how MSM are stigmatized by their
families, service providers, and community.
