LIGHT DIMMING
EQUIPMENT
Now light dimming equipment is within the
reach of the many school, church, community,
amateur and small theatre groups
who operate on a low budget. POWER-
STAT Dimmers are low in first cost, easy to
install, inexpensive to operate and flexible
in use. These Underwriters' Laboratories
approved units efficiently convert
power and do not dissipate it in the wasteful
form of heat. They are flexible in that
any number of lamps up to the rated
capacity can be controlled.
Type D1000H, shown above, is a typical
example of a low cost POWERSTAT Dimmer.
It is the only unit of its size and cost
with vertically operated handle and drum
markings. It handles any load up to 1000
watts. Write for Bulletin 749 for information
on the D1000H and other low cost
rOA Equipment Show
In Topnotch Style
The equipment show which the TOA
convention produced in Houston recently
was a top-caUber trade exposition which
attracted virtually all of the important
manufacturers and dealers in the field.
The huge exposition hall of the Shamrock
hotel, which is a building separate from
the hotel itself, was filled to the walls with
the displays, and very effective they were.
Exhibitors went touring wath huge shopping
bags provided by the convention committee,
to collect confections and a variety
of gadgets distributed at the booths.
Several times daily, convention leaders
took delegations of visitors on conducted
tours of the displays.
The TESMA members put on a big pitch
for one big single showmen's convention
each year in which the exhibitor meeting
and the TESMA show can be combined.
Selective Carbonation
Standard Feature Now
The Select-O-Carb feature made available
recently on one model of the Spacarb
coin-operated soft drink machines has become
standard equipment on all models
being sold now. the firm announced recently.
I. H. Houston, president, reports that
orders for the machines containing the new
feature, which makes it possible to select
the amount of carbonation for each of
three drinks contained in one machine,
outweighed orders for machines without
the addition by three to one.
Because of mounting costs, the price of
the hot unit, which makes it possible to
offer two cold and one hot drink through
the winter season, has been increased from
$100 to $125. Cost of the non-carbonated
attachment has been increased from $40
to $50.
