The <strong>College</strong>’s<br />

The <strong>Virginia</strong> Ruth Hutton Blevins Art Building, donated to the <strong>College</strong> in 1997 and<br />

renovated in 1998, houses the foundation, ceramic, printmaking and sculpture<br />

studios.<br />

Administrative Building, located in Main Hall contains offices for Admissions,<br />

Career Development, and Student Support Services.<br />

East Hall houses the offices of the President, Provost, Business, and Advancement.<br />

The fifth floor houses natural light painting and drawing studios.<br />

Student Housing is concentrated in several areas of campus:<br />

Main and West Halls, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors, are co-ed by floor. First floor<br />

Main and West also contain offices for Student Development, Residence<br />

Life, Student Activities, Spiritual Life, Mental Health Counselor, Registrar,<br />

Business Office and Financial Aid.<br />

<strong>Intermont</strong> Hall, completed in 1966, houses 181 students. The six-story<br />

building features lounge areas, laundry facilities, a kitchen and a recreation<br />

area. Health Services is located on the first floor of <strong>Intermont</strong> Hall. It is open<br />

Monday -Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Photography laboratories are located<br />

on the lower level.<br />

Moore Street Apartments are a historic home which has been transformed<br />

into apartments. These apartments range from studio to two-bedroom and<br />

are unfurnished. These apartments are offered to students based on GPA<br />

and credit hours earned.<br />

Parater Apartments are just a short walk from campus and offer 12 twobedroom<br />

furnished apartments. These apartments are offered to students<br />

based upon GPA and credit hours earned. Each apartment has an outside<br />

entrance, 2 full baths, cable, internet, local phone, a washer, and a dryer.<br />

Our 24-hour Security Department patrols the apartments as part of the<br />

campus, and an Apartment Manager lives on the premises.<br />

The Dining Hall is located on the first floor of the West Wing of the Main Complex.<br />

It is completely equipped with cafeteria and dining facilities. The facility underwent<br />

major refurbishing and renovations in summer 2001.<br />

Smith-Canter Gymnasium, built in 1928, is named for Mrs. Mary Lou Smith, an<br />

alumna and long-time faculty member of the <strong>College</strong>, and Mrs. <strong>Virginia</strong> Canter,<br />

who served as a faculty member and later Registrar before her retirement. It<br />

contains the main gymnasium floor, dressing rooms and an air-conditioned fitness<br />

center with treadmills, recumbent and upright bicycles, steppers, and elliptical<br />
