are nonrefundable. Students accepted after May 1 must submit a confirming<br />

statement and deposit within two weeks of acceptance. The enrollment deposit<br />

for students is $250.<br />

<strong>Virginia</strong> <strong>Intermont</strong> <strong>College</strong> offers an Early Decision Plan with all application<br />

materials due by January 1st. Students interested in the Early Decision Plan must<br />

provide a completed application, early decision agreement, official transcripts,<br />

official test scores and one letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor.<br />

Final high school transcripts must be sent to the <strong>College</strong> after the applicant’s<br />

graduation from high school. If the transcript is not on file in the Admissions<br />

Office before registration, the student will be limited to 13 hours and classified as<br />

a special student until the transcript is received.<br />

Complete payment of fees must be made according to the schedule outlined<br />

on page 25. Accounts must be satisfactorily settled in the Business Office prior<br />

to registration. Students applying for readmission to the <strong>College</strong> cannot be<br />

readmitted with an outstanding account balance with <strong>Virginia</strong> <strong>Intermont</strong> <strong>College</strong>.<br />

Additional information may be required to process applications.<br />

EARLY ADMISSION OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS<br />

A student who has demonstrated unusual academic ability may be admitted<br />

without being graduated from high school. Applicants for early admission must<br />

have grades of A or B in the usual college preparatory units, must have aboveaverage<br />

scores on the SAT and/or ACT, and must be recommended for admission<br />

to college by the high school principal.<br />

DUAL ENROLLMENT for HIGH SCHOOL & HOME SCHOOL<br />

STUDENTS<br />

<strong>Virginia</strong> <strong>Intermont</strong> <strong>College</strong> welcomes area high school and home school students<br />

who wish to dual enroll. Requirements include:<br />

• Completion of at least the sophomore year of high school<br />

• Grade point average of 3.0 or higher, on a 4.0 scale<br />

• Written recommendation of high school principal and guidance counselor.<br />

Home school students must submit a written recommendation from a<br />

parent or former home school teacher<br />

• Written permission of parent or legal guardian.<br />
