Detailed information about campus living is contained in the Cobra Student<br />

Handbook, provided to each student. The Cobra Student Handbook is also<br />

available on the VI website. Every student is expected to become familiar<br />

with the handbook and to abide by the stated regulations, procedures, and<br />

standards.<br />

Housing Requirements<br />

<strong>Virginia</strong> <strong>Intermont</strong> <strong>College</strong> values on-campus living that exposes students to<br />

a variety of meaningful out-of-class learning opportunities. Accordingly, oncampus<br />

living is required of undergraduate students with certain exceptions,<br />

and off-campus living is a privilege earned through progression toward degree<br />

completion.<br />

• Single, full-time students, other than those living at home with parents<br />

Residential Incentive:<br />

Students who have completed one year of coursework at VI and who have<br />

earned a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher will be eligible for a 25% room discount<br />

the following academic year. Each spring, students’ GPAs will be re-evaluated to<br />

determine eligibility for the discount for each successive year, for a maximum of<br />

three years.<br />

Students may live off campus if:<br />

• Students are 21 or older<br />

• Students have completed 85 or more credit hours prior to fall semester<br />

Vehicles<br />

All faculty, staff, and students who have vehicles on campus must register their<br />

vehicle in the Office of the Dean of Student Development no later than the first<br />

day of classes.<br />
