Introducing <strong>Intermont</strong> 9<br />

Café <strong>Intermont</strong> and the Student Lounge – This wifi area is one of the most<br />

popular leisure spots on campus for students to relax, listen to music, and<br />

play pool, ping pong, or foosball. Students may get something to eat while<br />

they visit with one another, use their laptop computers, or watch TV.<br />

Worrell Fine Arts Center, built in 1961, houses the facilities for Photography<br />

and Digital Imaging, Music, Speech and Theatre. Multiple galleries are used for<br />

student and faculty art and photography exhibits and as display areas for periodic<br />

exhibits of the works of artists and photographers from all parts of the country.<br />

The Center contains Trayer Theatre, a facility for teaching and performing, and<br />

Norman L. Nunn Recital Hall. The Recital Hall contains a three-manual Möller<br />

organ.<br />

Science Hall, built in 1963, is the largest academic building on campus and<br />

underwent a major renovation and expansion in 2011. Science Hall houses<br />

classrooms and a lecture hall for science, math, business and education and flexible<br />

use space for the PC and tutoring center. The building has state-of-the-art science<br />

laboratories and new technological capacity. The PC Center and classrooms are<br />

located on the first floor. The second floor contains a Foundational Academic<br />

Tutoring Center for tutoring in Math and Writing, general classrooms, and faculty<br />

offices for the department of Business. The third floor contains laboratories,<br />

classrooms, and faculty offices for Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.<br />

Science Hall PC Center is a Windows-based microcomputer installation<br />

equipped with 18 systems, two laser printers, and a projection system for<br />

faculty teaching. The Center is open extended hours to all students, faculty,<br />

and staff. Lab monitors are available at designated times to aid users.<br />

Kennedy Auditorium is an amphitheatre-style lecture hall featuring recent<br />

technology enhancements from the J. Henry Kegley Foundation.<br />

The Humanities and Social Sciences Building is a three-story classroom and<br />

faculty office building. The first floor contains the department of Social Work<br />

offices. The second and third floors house classrooms and faculty offices.<br />

Harrison-Jones Memorial Hall, completed in 1967, offers dressing rooms,<br />

classrooms, maintenance operations, and reception areas. The structure is<br />

named for the Rev. J. R. Harrison, founder of<br />

the <strong>College</strong>, and his son-in-law, S. D. Jones,<br />

<strong>Intermont</strong> president from 1889 to 1898.<br />

J. Henry Kegley Auditorium, a 982-seat<br />

Jones Memorial Hall. The auditorium<br />

was modernized and renovated in<br />
