341-WEB DESIGN II. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor. Intermediate HTML,<br />

scripting, web based animation and site management. Emphasis on commercial<br />

applications. Four lecture/laboratory hours a week.<br />

Credit, three semester hours. Offered as needed.<br />

345-ELECTRONIC MEDIA. Prerequisite: Photography 337 and permission of<br />

instructor. Introduction to digital video and presentation techniques including<br />

PowerPoint. Four lecture/laboratory hours a week.<br />

Credit, three semester hours. Offered as needed.<br />

355-PROFESSIONAL STUDIES. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor. Advanced<br />

creative problem-solving experiences that focus on preparations for the<br />

photography job market. Projects, both personal and group, could include work<br />

with local clients, a self-promotional booklet (designed and printed), and portfolio<br />

development. Interaction, discussion and student presentations are also part<br />

of this course. Students are encouraged to meet professional standards while<br />

developing a strong personal point of view.<br />

Credit, three semester hours. May be repeated for credit. Offered each semester.<br />

360-ELEMENTS OF FILM. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor. This course<br />

introduces students to the basic technical and aesthetic elements that comprise<br />

the art of film. Each week one of the following elements will be studied: (1)<br />

Screenwriting, (2) The Camera, (3) Performance, (4) Music and Sound, (5) The<br />

Edited Image, (6) The Director. Discussion will be supplemented each week by a<br />

short film dealing with the specific element being studied. The final meeting will<br />

be an analysis of a full-length feature.<br />

Three hours a week. Credit, three semester hours. Offered as needed.<br />

361-HISTORY OF MOTION PICTURES. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor. This<br />

course is a critical survey of the narrative and documentary motion-picture film<br />

as a distinctive art form and as a medium of expression and communication. This<br />

course traces in chronological order the major events of, and influences on, world<br />

cinema.<br />

Three hours a week. Credit, three semester hours. Offered fall semester as needed.<br />

402-THE PHOTOGRAPH AS DOCUMENT. Prerequisite: Permision of instructor.<br />

This course involves the study and use of the photograph to record, interpret, and<br />

communicate the human condition and the environment in which it exists. One<br />

two-hour lecture/critique session and one two-hour laboratory session a week.<br />

Credit, three semester hours. Offered fall semester, as needed.<br />
