the Comprehensive Core requirements. However, members of the VI faculty
recognize that motivated students may wish to seek out more challenging studies
to satisfy the Core requirements. Students, therefore, may seek approval to enroll
in courses other than those listed above by seeking written permission from the
departmental coordinator and by the course instructor. Please note that core
substitutions are not considered routine, and it is the student’s responsibility to
SECOND-YEAR SEMINAR COMPREHENSIVE STUDIES – 3 credit
hours
The Keystone Project is designed to provide an opportunity for the student to
exhibit academic skills and showcase his or her development as a comprehensive
critical and creative thinker. In this regard, The Keystone Project also serves as a
Comprehensive Core capstone course in that it functions as a mid-way assessment
point where the College assesses the degree to which it has succeeded in
developing comprehensive core knowledge and foundational skills in its student
body. Moreover, The Keystone Project is a gateway experience that ushers the
student into the rigors of upper-level studies in the major.
