Greyhound Bus Lines and the Tri-Cities
Airport. Air carriers operating in Tri-Cities
include Delta Connection, US Airways
Express and Allegiant Air.
Directions to Campus
To Campus (From Interstate 81 heading north): Take Exit 3 and turn left at the
fourth stoplight onto Euclid Avenue. Travel approximately one mile and turn right
onto Chester Street. Turn right at the second stop sign onto Moore Street and the
main entrance is on the left.
To Campus (From Interstate-81 heading south): Take Exit 5 and turn left onto Lee
Highway. Travel approximately one mile and the College is directly ahead. The
main entrance is the third left after Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Once On Campus: Follow the entrance road left and up the hill past Harrison-
Jones Memorial Hall. Visitor parking spots are located to your right, in front of
East Hall and Intermont Hall. Park in the main entrance lot near Harrison-Jones if
no visitor spots are available in front of East Hall. Admissions/Main Hall is on the
left with white rocking chairs on the front porch.
THE CAMPUS
The campus of Virginia Intermont is located only eight blocks from the heart of
downtown Bristol and in close proximity to other shopping centers. Campus
buildings are a blend of modern and historic structures. Major buildings and
facilities are described below.
Turner Student Center, completed in 1959, is named for Dr. Floyd V.
Turner, President of Virginia Intermont from 1956-1979. It contains
the following:
VIBES Bookstore – The VI Book and Everything Store was completed in 2000.
Students may purchase books, educational supplies, campus fashions and
souvenirs, personal hygiene items, posters, magazines, greeting cards and
other miscellaneous items. Textbooks are purchased through our online
store at www.vic.edu/textbook.
Post Office – Each student is assigned an individual box. Mail is sorted and
delivered daily.
Athletic Department – athletic departmental offices.
Security – a 24/7 security office is located on the first floor of the Student
Center.
