<strong>The</strong> GP will demonstrate the ability to:<br />

• review regularly the PHO per<strong>for</strong>mance parameters and<br />

ways to achieve these within the team<br />

• undertake pandemic planning within the practice and<br />

community<br />

• describe the protocols and standing orders <strong>for</strong><br />

vaccination <strong>for</strong>, <strong>for</strong> example, seasonal flu<br />

• demonstrate the skills and knowledge of general practice<br />

involvement in pandemic planning and protocols of the<br />

individual practice<br />

• describe the primary health care organisation (PHO)<br />

per<strong>for</strong>mance parameters and how the practice is<br />

meeting these requirements<br />

• describe the role of primary care in managing population<br />

health and the individual role of the general practitioner,<br />

general practice team and wider primary care community<br />

• discuss the changing nature of work relationships due<br />

to the influence of health priorities, changes in health<br />

care, structures and systems<br />

• prepare emergency management systems in the case<br />

of an unseen event or natural disaster.<br />

• consider the use of resources and their equitable<br />

distribution in the practice population<br />
