However, the shore phase, which normally precedes the sea<br />

phase to prepare the personnel in all the various procedures,<br />

did take place<br />

The SAS QUEEN MODJADJI 1 was escorted successfully<br />

from Kiel in Germany to Simon’s Town by the SAS<br />

PROTEA, arriving on 22 May <strong>2008</strong><br />

This is a multinational Naval Control and Guidance <strong>of</strong><br />

Shipping exercise<br />

The SA Navy participated in this exercise by sending a<br />

representative to Hawaii<br />

Not achieved<br />

This is an annual diving exercise involving Regular and<br />

Reserve divers in all aspects <strong>of</strong> diving<br />

It did not take place due to insufcient diving supervisors<br />

to ensure proper supervision <strong>of</strong> divers, which would<br />

compromise safety<br />
