Cases pending as of June 30, 1938.—Of the 12,632 cases, involving<br />
3,131,688 workers, on docket during the fiscal year 1937-38, 3,781 cases,<br />
involving 1,285,870 workers, were pending on June 30, 1938. Thus,<br />
about 70 percent of the total cases on docket were disposed of during<br />
this period, with approximately 30 percent awaiting further action by<br />
the Board.<br />
Included in the 3,781 pending cases were 2,604 cases, or 68.9 percent,<br />
which were awaiting further action by the regional directors;• 232<br />
cases or 6.1 percent, were awaiting the issuance of an intermediate<br />
report ' by the trial examiners; 629 cases, or 16.6 percent, were awaiting<br />
the decision of the Board ; and 316 cases, or 8.4 percent, were awaiting<br />
certification by the Board or compliance with the Board's decisions.<br />
Decisions issued and cases heard.—Durino . the fiscal year 1937-38<br />
the Board held hearings in 1,451 cases, all of which were conducted<br />
by trial examiners designated by the Chief Trial Examiner.'<br />
3. Hearings which opened on or before June 30, 1938, but were still in progress after this<br />
date were excluded from this total.
