This species is most closely related toT. mitchelli. The record by Nicholas (1962) of thisspecies in "Cueva del Ponte" is probably an error <strong>for</strong>Cenote del Pochote.Family PalaemonidaeSix species of palaemonid shrimp are troglobites inthe caves of Mexico. An additional three species havebeen found in caves as either troglophiles or trogloxenes.Other troglobitic palaemonids are known fromAssam, the Mediterranean region, the southern UnitedStates, and Cuba.107
