This guide informs project teams of the current standard adoptedfor minimum carriageway width of roads in public housing estates.2. This guide is MMffiATORY for all staff involved in the planning anddesign of housing estates.3- There have been queries raised concerning the width of estataroad, service access and emergency access to be adopted. Therelevant infcnnation was endorsed by the CBMB at the meeting of 171993.4. Infonration contained in this guide was previously issued underETC no. 22/93 which is now superseded.5. The contents of this guide have been reviewed in consultation andagreed with SHM/D&V, SEA/3/ SMS/GD, CCF and CPO.6. The Civil Engineering Section has defined and categorized types ofroads in PHEs and ascribed minimum width to each type respectivelyin their Boa/is Manual.7. Restricted roads within Housing Authority's vesting order arecategorized as follows :• Major access road• Service road*Emergency access*(* provided that any length of these access roads is included inthe designation' of Restricted Roads under Housing OooiiranceSection 25A).Page 1 bi
