X.95.3.4 "High Rise Building 11 means a building in which the floor ofthe uppermost storey is at a height of 30 m or more above apoint of discharge of a staircase to a place of ultimatesafety.5.3.5 "Hotel 11 means a building used wholly or in part primarilyfor the purposes of accommodation on a commercial basis.5.3.6 "Industrial Building 11 means a building used wholly or inpart in any process for or incidental to any of thefollowing purposesj namely :-5.3.6 (a) the making of any article or part of any article;or5.3.6 (b) the altering, repairing, ornamenting, finishing,cleaning or washing or breaking up or demolitionof any article; or5.3.6 (c) the adapting for sale of any article being abuilding in which work is carried out by way oftrade or for purposes of gain.5.3.7 "Institutional Building" means a building used wholly or inpart for the purposes of the following :-5.3.7 (a) Club premises;5.3.7 (b) Educational establishments;5.3.7 (c) Hostels;5.3.7 (d) Hospitals including mental institutions andclinics;5.3.7 (e) Prisons and similar corrective institutions,5.3.8 "Low Rise Building" means a building in which the floor ofthe upper most storey is less than 30 m above a point ofdischarge of a staircase to a place of ultimate safety.5.3.9 "Place of Ultimate Safety" means a street or any open areahaving unobstructed access, not less in width than thetotal required width of exit routes discharging into suchan area, to a street• Where private service lanes andprivate streets form a place of ultimate safety or a partthereof, these will not be accepted unless it can be shownthat they are not built upon or otherwise obstructed andtheir integrity will at all times be maintained to thesatisfaction of the Building Authority*ServicesDate : 24 April 1995
