B2 CAP. 95] Fire Service (Installations and Equipment) [1978 Ed.Regulations[Subsidiary]Maintenanceor repair <strong>of</strong>fire serviceinstallationsor equipment.L.N. 269/78.Duty <strong>of</strong> owners<strong>of</strong> fire serviceinstallationsor equipmentIssue <strong>of</strong>certificatesby registeredcontractors.L.N. 269/78.L.N. 269/78.(Cap. 95, sub. leg.)(2) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to any portable equipmentwhich is not required by law to be installed in any premises.7, (1) Subject to paragraph (2), no person other than aregistered contractor shall maintain, inspect or repair any fire serviceinstallation or equipment which is installed in any premises.(2) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to any portable equipmentwhich is not required by law to be installed in any premises.8« <strong>The</strong> owner <strong>of</strong> any fire service installation or equipmentwhich is installed in any premises shall—(a) keep such fire service installation or equipment in efficientworking order at ail times; and(h) have such fire service installation or equipment inspectedby a registered contractor at least once in every 12 months,9, (1) Whenever a registered contractor installs, maintains,repairs or inspects any fire service installation or equipment in anypremises, he shall within 14 days after completion <strong>of</strong> the work issueto the person on whose instructions the work was undertaken acertificate and forward a copy there<strong>of</strong> to the Director.(2) A certificate issued under paragraph (1) shall state—(a) the address <strong>of</strong> the premises in which the work was carriedout;(b) a description <strong>of</strong> the fire service installation or equipmentconcerned;(ha) the date <strong>of</strong> the completion <strong>of</strong> the work;(c) the nature <strong>of</strong> the work carried out; and(d) whether or not the fire service installation or equipmentis in efficient working order.(2A) A certificate issued under paragraph (1) shall be signedby the person authorized to do so under regulation 3A <strong>of</strong> the FireService (Installation Contractors) Regulations and any person whosigns a certificate which is false or misleading in any material particularcommits an <strong>of</strong>fence and is liable on conviction to a fine <strong>of</strong>L.N. 269/78..N\ fit Hi(3) Any registered contractor who—(a) contravenes paragraph (1); or(b) issues or forwards a certificate thereunder, or a copy there<strong>of</strong>,which is false or misleading in a material particular,commits an <strong>of</strong>fence and is liable on conviction to a fine <strong>of</strong> ^2,Provided that where the certificate was signed by a personother than the registered contractor, the registered contractor shall
