The combination of these documents provides adetailed basis for the purposes of inspection qtnd testingof installations and equipment.FSIs and Equipment Requirements According toClassification of Premises5.4 According to the Code of Practice for MinimumFire Service Installations and Equipment, there aredifferent FSIs and equipment requirements in respect ofthe various types of premises. The classification ofthese premises cover a wide range of facilities includingcommercial buildings, domestic buildings, industrialgodown buildings, hotels, cinemas, garages and others.As regards domestic buildings, the current minimum FSIsand equipment requirements are as follows -(a) Domestic buildings - low rise (up to andincluding three storeys in height)• Portable hand-operated approvedappliances(b) Domestic buildings - low rise (over 3storeys in height)• Fire alarm systems• Fire hydrant/hose reel systems- 61 -
