(k)The hose reel nozzle shall have a 4.5 mmorifice and be fitted with a simple twoway valve to open or shut off jet; thevalve must not be spring loaded.(1) The design of the hose reel shall be suchthat the tubing is permanently connected,via pipes in the drum of the hose reel andsuch stuffing boxes as may be necessary,to the hydrant supply main.(m) The testing of sprinkler installationswill be carried out according to the testsspecified from time to time by the FireOffices' Committee (para. 5.3 (c) above).(n) The testing of drencher and fixedinstallations will be carried outaccording to such tests as the D of FS mayrequire having regard to the nature andpurpose of the installation.(o) The tests for fire hydrant/hose reelinstallations will be carried outaccording to the laid down checklist(Annex XXXXIV).(p) The tests for dry riser installationsshall consist of -(i) a visual examination of the fittingsand piping and their location;(ii) a practical charging of the risingmain to show that the system can beeasily charged via the fire serviceinlet within a reasonable time havingregard to the size of theinstallation and with particularattention to the efficiency of airrelief valves;(iii)the installation must prove clear ofpercolation and leakage for 10minutes after being charged withwater.(q) The tests for hand appliances and otherpreventive media shall be in accordancewith the tests specified by the D of FS- 65 -
