The Institutefor Molecular Pharmacology (FMP) as well as BayerSchering Pharma are co-shareholders (20% each).Life Science Learning LabIn 2009 the Life Science Learning Lab (GläsernesLabor) celebrated its tenth anniversary. This year morethan 12,500 middle school and high school students,teachers, technical assistants and scientists as well asmembers of the general public visited lab courses andfurther education programs on topics such as methodsand applications of genetic research, cell biologyand molecular medicine. These activities are supportedsignificantly by the MDC and other campus institutions.The activities of the Life Science Learning Lab focusedon the development of new lab courses relating toresearch topics of the MDC, the establishment of newlab courses in the MDC student lab and the encouragementof socially disadvantaged students. As partof the German Children and Youth Foundation project"Schools prepare for the future," the Life ScienceLearning Lab developed school lessons and experimentsin biology, health education and nutrition forthe local Hufeland school.Central activities of the CampusPR/Life Science LearningLab team included the editing and publication ofthe newsletter “CampusNews”, the publication ofbooklets and flyers for location marketing as well asthe successful realisation of events such as the NewYear’s reception and “Long Night of the Sciences," astrong magnet for visitors.In the campus kindergarten “CampusSterne”, whichwas initiated by the CampusPR, all 30 places are completelybooked and just three years after opening thekindergarten is going to be enlarged in 2010.Leibniz-Institut für Molekulare Pharmakologie(FMP)The Leibniz-Institut für Molekulare Pharmakologie(FMP) conducts basic research in the field of molecularpharmacology. Das MDC und andere Campuseinrichtungenhaben diese Aktivitäten maßgeblich unterstützt.Die Bildungsarbeit des Gläsernen Labors fokussierte sichu. a. dabei auf die Entwicklung neuer Laborkurse mitBezug zu Forschungsthemen des MDC, auf den Ausbauder Kursangebote im MDC-Schülerlabor sowie die Förderungvon sozial benachteiligten Schülerinnen undSchülern. Als Teil des Verbundprojekts »Die Schule machtfit für die Zukunft« der Deutschen Kinder- und Jugendstiftungentwickelte das Gläserne Labor geeigneteUnterrichtseinheiten und Experimente zum Thema Biologie,Gesundheit und Ernährung für die an den Campusangrenzende Hufeland-Hauptschule. Zu den zentralenAktivitäten der Campus-PR/Gläsernes Labor zähltewie in den Vorjahren die Gestaltung und Herausgabeder Mitarbeiter und Imagezeitung „CampusNews“, diePublikation von Broschüren zum Standortmarketingdes Campus sowie die Organisation und erfolgreicheDurchführung von Veranstaltungen wie dem Neujahrsempfangder Campus-Einrichtungen und der äußersterfolgreichen und besucherstarken Langen Nacht derWissenschaften.Die von der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit des Campus initiierteund vor drei Jahren eröffnete betriebsnahe Kindertagesstätte»CampusSterne« ist mit 30 verfügbaren Plätzenausgebucht. Weitere Kitaplätze werden seitens derBeschäftigten des Campus nachgefragt.
