Frances, MD, is Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatryat New York University School of Medicine and Director of Public and ProfessionalEducation at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Connecticut. He isalso in private practice in New York City. Dr. Frances was former President andMedical Director at Silver Hill Hospital; was founding president of the AmericanAcademy of Addiction Psychiatry; and helped found and chaired theCouncil of Addiction Psychiatry for the American Psychiatric Association. Heis the author of several hundred articles and several books, and is on numerouseditorial boards of journals. Dr. Frances frequently lectures on addiction psychiatryand has appeared numerous times as a guest on Court TV.Sheldon I. Miller, MD, is the Lizzie Gilman Professor of Psychiatry and formerChairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at NorthwesternUniversity. During his career, he has served on many boards and committeesof many national and local organizations. Dr. Miller has authored orcoauthored over 60 scientific articles, chapters, and books. He is Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal on Addictions and was a founder of the AmericanAcademy of Addiction Psychiatry.
