Bhutan in broader areas of Environment and Natural Resources.<br />

3.5.4. How does the university utilize the expertise of its faculty with<br />

regard to consultancy services?<br />

The University encourages individual faculty members to take up<br />

Consultancy, with a ratio of 40% revenue to University and 60% to the<br />

member concerned.<br />

3.6 Extension Activities and Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR)<br />

3.6.1 How does the university sensitize its faculty and students on its<br />

Institutional Social Responsibilities? List the social outreach programmes<br />

which have created an impact on students’ campus experience during the<br />

last four years.<br />

From the past four-five years, the University has excelled itself in handling the<br />

extension and outreach programmes.<br />

University has adopted five nearby villages. Every student volunteer is<br />

allocated one of the villages. A student is expected to spread awareness about,<br />

environmental issues, women’s issues, disabilities issues, de-addiction, human<br />

rights issues, educational work with children from underprivileged<br />

communities.<br />

The nature of the work includes conducting various types of surveys (need<br />

assessment surveys, impact assessment surveys, child labour survey, health<br />

survey, pension survey), organizing awareness campaigns, collection drives<br />

(clothes, books, toys and e-waste), conducting art craft workshops, assisting in<br />

administrative work, helping with school annual days and other functions.<br />
