last four years.<br />

University was awarded for Managing Solid Waste in the campus by UCOST<br />

in 2012.<br />

3.7 Collaboration<br />

3.7.1 How has the university’s collaboration with other agencies<br />

impacted the visibility, identity and diversity of activities on campus? To<br />

what extent has the university benefitted academically and financially<br />

because of collaborations?<br />

All Science departments, Humanities, and Management departments have<br />

developed linkages with institutes, laboratories and industries. Over a period<br />

of years these efforts have helped in student projects especially for post<br />

graduate students. Students get an opportunity to work with industries and<br />

work on ‘live projects’. Students of Social Sciences get benefit from NGOs<br />

like Pratham, RLEK, HESCO etc. with regard to survey based projects and<br />

internships.<br />

3.7.2 Mention specific examples of how these linkages promote ∗<br />

Curriculum development: The experience gained through interaction and<br />

feedback from academic, research and outreach activities helped in identifying<br />

the new emerging and job oriented areas, which could be included while<br />

updating the curriculum.<br />

Internship: Students of Environment Sciences, Social Sciences, and of<br />

professional courses like M.Tech. and M.C.A. gain hands-on-experience of<br />

real life situations through internship in various organizations / industrial<br />

establishments.<br />

On-the-job training: Students of courses in Media and management undergo<br />

on job training in industries related to respective subjects.<br />

Faculty exchange and development: Through linkages, the university and<br />

other institutes have helped in arranging faculty exchange and academic<br />

development. The faculty exchange involves guest lectures on specialized<br />

topics and visits to different institutes<br />
