Any gaps, difficulties or problems brought into the notice of the respective<br />

bodies, as above are referred to the respective HoDs/faculty/Division. The<br />

administration has issued advisories formally and informally to take up<br />

corrective actions in areas such as improving the classroom interaction,<br />

maintaining discipline, arranging guest faculty on special<br />

topics/subject/courses, individual difficulties of the students and also<br />

strengthening the assessment/examination processes.<br />

6.5.3 Is there a central body within the university to continuously<br />

review the teaching learning process? Give details of its structure,<br />

methodologies of operations and outcome?<br />

Though the University has recently appointed Dean, Academic affairs to look<br />

into the teaching learning aspects/processes, due to the limited number of<br />

senior professors and also small organizational set up- Schools/ Departments/<br />

Student community, the support system for the Dean, Academic Affairs is<br />

rather limited. This is to be noted that the respective Schools/Departments are<br />

autonomous and accountable for creating and maintaining a smart teaching<br />

learning process which are relatively better equipped in terms of staff,<br />

equipments, advisors and processes.<br />

6.5.4 How has IQAC contributed to institutionalizing quality assurance<br />

strategies and processes?<br />

In the process of selection of appointment of faculty and non-teaching staff<br />

IQAC carries out screening of the applications received and adheres to the<br />

minimum eligibility conditions for short listing of candidates. The list of<br />

shortlisted candidates is put on the website of the University to ensure<br />

transparency.<br />

6.5.5 How many decisions of the IQAC have been placed before the<br />

statutory authorities of the University for implementation?<br />

The following decisions of IQAC were placed before the statutory bodies of<br />

the University and have been implemented.<br />

Ph.D regulations of the University with regard to mode of admission,<br />

pre Ph.D coursework, credit structure of the pre Ph.D coursework, etc.<br />

Uniformity in the structure of academic programmes in different<br />

Schools and Departments with respect to minimum number of credits,<br />

number of core and elective courses, etc.<br />

Provision and guidelines for Zero Semester.<br />

Constitution of School Faculty Council, Academic Advisory<br />

Committee and Doctoral Research Committee in each<br />

School/Department.<br />
